  • Our Aronui Health Coaches walk alongside whaanau who are facing wellbeing, wairua, health and addictions challenges with a holistic-focussed approach. Rooted in wairuatanga and guided by maatauranga Maaori, they support whaanau to strengthen their tinana, hinengaro, wairua, and whaanau. Whether it’s navigating everyday challenges, setting goals, or connecting with services, our Health Coaches are here to awhi, uplift, and empower.

  • Our Aronui Health Improvement Practitioners provide focused, solution-based support to help whaanau manage life's challenges and strengthen their hinengaro and wairua. Drawing on both clinical expertise and maatauranga Maaori, they offer timely guidance around stress, anxiety, mamae, and other everyday pressures. HIPs work closely with whaanau in the moment – helping to restore balance and build resilience.

  • Kai & Koorero is our weekly Friday kaupapa for kuia and kaumaatua (over 60's group) – a space to move, experience new things, share time and space, and connect. Through gentle movement activity, (chair based) shared kai, and meaningful koorero, our kaumaatua come together to nurture their hinengaro, strengthen whanaungatanga, and build new friendships. It’s about staying active, staying connected, and celebrating the wisdom and presence of our pakeke in a space that feels like home.

  • This movement and meditation workshop is a collaboration of traditional Maaori healing modalities weaved together to create a space that awakens an awareness to your holistic being.

    Sessions will consist of Mahi Raakau (staff) , Mahi Tinana (body movement) , Mahi Haa (breath) and a short clearing/re-generising meditation facilitated by romiromi practitioner Piripi Morunga.

    Ngaakau Oho is open to all who would like to attend and will run for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour live on Zoom at 6am Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you can't make the live Zoom, you can watch the recordings on YouTube.

    You will need a quiet space, a mat, cushion or seat, water and two Rakau: One Rakau with length from the ground to your chin and a short Rakau with length from the tip of your finger to your shoulder.

    This workshop will help to facilitate more positive experiences that range from healthier ways to approach daily tasks, to shifting trauma that can block energy in the body thus affecting Hinengaro, Tinana and Wairua.

    Participating will foster wellbeing that is attentive to individual and collective experiences of Wairua, Hinengaro, Tinana and Whaanau.

  • Raranga Hauora uses the art of weaving Korowai/Kaakahu (cloaks) to provide a unique cultural approach to help whaanau to quit many addictions, from smoking, vaping, marijuana, gambling, alcohol and many others. 

     

    This 10-week free programme interweaves maatauranga (traditional Maaori knowledge) and cessation practices to reduce and eventually quit many addictions. The commitment required is to attend a minimum of one 2 hour session per week, either on Mondays in Manukau or Wednesdays in Maangere. 

     

    You then take your small baby sized korowai/kaakahu home for the week. Working on this taonga at home, helps distract your cravings and reduce your addiction use. You get to keep your finished korowai/kaakahu at the end of the programme. You will learn all you need to then make a much larger adult sized korowai/kaakahu. Everything you need from the boards, feathers and whenu, are provided.

    Who Is Eligible?

    This free 10 week programme is open to all genders and ages above 18 years of age, you do not need to be fluent in te reo Maaori, but have an interest in traditional Maaori crafts and knowledge.   • Our Taumata Team walk alongside whanaau involved in the justice system, providing awhi through times of challenge and transition. Our team support with court appearances, navigating the justice system including probation, e-bail and other such systems. Their mahi is about restoring mana, building trust, and helping whanau find pathways forward – guided by the principles of aroha, tika, and pono.

  • Tania, a clinically trained counsellor with nearly two decades of experience, integrates Maaori ideologies and traditional healing practices as core components of her therapeutic framework. This approach provides a comprehensive and holistic form of healing, maintaining the essential balance and interconnectedness of the hinengaro (mind), mauri (physical), and wairua (spirit).

This misalignment can stem from factors such as intergenerational trauma—along with the social, psychological, physiological, and cultural challenges that accompany it. Te Whare Hau expresses our holistic pathways of wellbeing utilising mātauranga Maaori, kōrero, whakapapa, waananga and rongoā.

Through personalised one-on-one sessions and continuous support, individuals receive the tools and guidance needed for a healthier, substance-free life.

OROKOROA is a Maaori meditation programme that harnesses the sacred source of life through sound (Oro), vibration (Oko), and journey (Roa). This practice transcends timeless energy and creates a collective consciousness connected to the highest source of supernatural beings. This beginner programme provides a structured pathway into Maaori meditation, offering free and accessible resources to help individuals harness the power of stillness and achieve a balanced state of being through the principles of OROKOROA.

This programme is ideal for beginners interested in Maaori meditation, individuals seeking a holistic approach to mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, and anyone wanting to explore traditional Maaori practices for mindfulness.
